Marina Mariano (Sardinia, Italy, 1995) is a photographer and graphic designer based in Barcelona. She grew up on an island before moving to London, where she studied journalism at London Metropolitan University (2014). Over time, words led her towards images: she studied graphic design at the University of the Arts London (2019) and completed a master’s degree at Elisava in Barcelona (2020).

In 2025, she began her photographic training at El Observatorio, where she is studying Photographic Language and Authorial Documentary Photography. Her work stems from the human experience: from what we encounter along the way, what leaves a mark on us, and what nevertheless shapes us. She uses photography as a channel for processing and a space for reconstruction, exploring the ways in which people move through loss, trauma and transformation.

At El Observatorio, she is also developing her first photographic project, Del temps que gira i torna, a self-published photobook that reflects on the ability to rebuild oneself after a rupture and on the process of inhabiting the light once again.

She is currently working on Latente, a project that explores the different faces of grief.
